Canberra Dance Festival is now widely recognised as an enjoyable, friendly and efficient Festival with the emphasis on sharing our love of Dance rather than competition.

Halimah Kyrgios
Theatrical Teacher
After relocating to Sydney to pursue a professional dance career, Pete completed two years of full-time training at the renowned Ev&Bow Full-Time Dance Training Centre, under the mentorship of Sarah Boulter and Lisa Bowmer. During this time, he was invited to perform with the studio’s select company and began forging creative partnerships with other commercial dancers—many of whom he continues to collaborate with today.
Halimah is a talented performer and mentor hailing from Canberra, Australia. With over a decade of professional experience in Musical Theatre, Halimah takes great pride in encouraging and nurturing young performers in the right direction to set them up for success in the performing arts industry.
After receiving a scholarship, she completed her senior schooling at McDonald Performing Arts College in Sydney majoring in Music and Dance, Halimah further honed her dance skills at ED5 International training in ballet, jazz, tap, commercial, contemporary and musical theatre.
To complete her training, Halimah was awarded another scholarship to attend Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree in Musical Theatre.
As a performer, Halimah worked in Australia and internationally. Her list of credits is expansive, highlights include - Season 10 Top 20 finalist on The Voice Australia coached by Rita Ora, Starlight Express Germany, Disneyland Hong Kong, Universal Studios Singapore and Japan, Aladdin and La Cage Aux Folles in Singapore and Kismet with The Production Company in Melbourne.
Halimah has been choreographing, teaching vocals, piano and dance for many years across the globe while juggling her onstage professional work. Having the opportunity to teach and work professionally at the same time has allowed Halimah to educate her students with the ever-evolving demands, trends and experiences in the industry.
